Guingamp edged past Rennes

Guingamp triumphed over Rennes in a close win on Wednesday, 2x1, relating to matchweek 18 of Ligue 1. Before this matchday, Jocelyn Gourvennec's team came from a defeat, and Julien Stéphan's team came from two wins.

The opening goal was scored by Félix Eboa Eboa with 40 minutes on the clock, from a corner.

After 59 minutes, Guingamp increased their lead with a goal from Lucas Déaux through a header.  M´Baye Niang netted the last goal in the closing stages of the game with a right-foot shot from outside the penalty box.

After the result Rennes are 13th in the table, with 23 points, while Guingamp sit 20th place, with 11 points. With regard to the next fixture, Jocelyn Gourvennec's team will play away against Paris SG, while Julien Stéphan's team will host Montpellier.
