Despite the defeat, Toronto FC end Tigres's CONCACAF Champions League dreams

Tigres triumphed over Toronto FC in a close win on Wednesday, 3x2, in a match relating to the quarter-finals of CONCACAF Champions League. Gignac was the main player.

The first-half ended without any goals.

In an unfortunate moment Rafael Carioca scored an own goal after 64 minutes. With 69 minutes on the clock, Eduardo Vargas struck for Tigres, assisted by Jürgen Damm. In the 73rd minute, Sebastian Giovinco scored the second goal for Toronto FC. After 84 minutes, Gignac struck the second goal for Tuca Ferretti's team, laid on by Jesús Dueñas.  in stoppage time, Gignac netted the final goal of the game, from the penalty spot.

Thanks to this result, Toronto FC are through to the next round of the competition. With regard to the next fixture, Toronto, ON's team will play at home against América.
