Sport defeat Vitória

Sport edged out Vitória, 1x2, on Thursday, in a game relating to matchweek 27. To this matchday, Salvador (BA)'s team came from two wins, and Recife (PE)'s team came from a defeat.

The first goal of the game was scored by Diego Souza, from a direct free kick, after 45 minutes. With this goal, Diego Souza reached the 25th goal of the season.

In the 66th minute, Reinaldo Lenis struck the second goal for Sport, laid on by Diego Souza. Santiago Tréllez netted the last goal with 84 minutes on the clock. After seeing his second yellow card in the final minutes of the game, André Lima was sent off and left Vitória with 10-man.

After the result Sport are 11th in the table, with 33 points, while Vitória sit 12th place, with 32 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Recife (PE)'s team will host Atlético Mineiro, whilst Salvador (BA)'s team visit Santos.
