The CEO of Bayer Leverkusen Fernando Carro has said that he has ‘no doubts’ that Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso will one day be in the dugout at Real Madrid.
Carro said: “I have no doubts. One day, Xabi Alonso will be Real Madrid manager. No doubts at all, zero doubts. The only doubt is when he will sign for Real Madrid. But it will happen, trust me, I am sure.”
Bayer Leverkusen were crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time ever on Sunday afternoon as they hammered Werder Bremen by five goals to nil at the BayArena.
It has been heavily reported and it is expected that Leverkusen will keep hold of Alonso for another season as they try and recreate their special campaign in the UEFA Champions League next year.
Leverkusen are unbeaten in 43 matches across all competitions so far this season with the final of the DFB-Pokal against Kaiserslautern next month and they are also 2-0 up on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League against West Ham United.
Alonso has three famous former clubs all reportedly interested in his services and there is a belief he will coach Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Real Madrid at some point in his career.
