Mohammed Kudus scored his first goal for West Ham, securing a thrilling 2-2 draw against Newcastle United at London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
In the early stages of the match, Newcastle held possession dominance but struggled to create significant threats.
The hosts, adopting a counter-attacking strategy, took the lead with their first offensive move of the game.
Emerson Palmieri got in behind Kieran Trippier after a well-placed pass over the top from Lucas Paquetá, then rounded Nick Pope before delivering a precise cross to Tomas Soucek, who had an easy tap-in.
In the second half, the Magpies displayed more determination and equalised before the hour mark when a free kick from Trippier, taken just inside the opponent's half, was nodded back across the goal by a West Ham defender, Alexander Isak saw the opportunity and scored from just outside the six-yard box.
The visitors continued their resurgence, and shortly after, the Swedish international completed the comeback with a remarkable volley across the box, courtesy of Bruno Guimarães' assist.
It appeared that Newcastle would secure their fourth consecutive league victory, but West Ham had other ideas. In the 89th minute, Vladimir Coufal sped down the right flank and found Mohammed Kudus, who elegantly netted his first Premier League goal for West Ham from the edge of the box.
Despite West Ham's strong push for a late winner, the match ended in a draw, as David Moyes' men will sit in seventh place, one point above eighth-placed Newcastle.
After the international break, West Ham will resume play with an away game at Villa Park, while Newcastle is set to face Crystal Palace at St. James' Park.
