Manchester United's Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba headed first-half goals to claim a 2-0 win that dumped FA Cup holders Chelsea out of the competition and secured a place in the quarterfinals in an intense tie at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
United, who will face Wolves at Molineux in the quarter-final, were aggressive and clinical in the first half, going ahead through Ander Herrera's header from Pogba's superb left-wing cross (31), before Pogba scored a powerful header of his own from Marcus Rashford's beauty of a delivery from the right (45).
The visitors kept Chelsea at bay through periods of pressure in the second half with a gritty and professional display
Maurizio Sarri: "I am worried about the result not our fans. Of course, I can understand their frustration. The result was not very good. We are out of the FA Cup. We played confusing football in the second half but in the first half I think we played well. e need more aggression and more determination in the situations inside our own box and inside the opposition box. The difference was there.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "We had criticism after the PSG game and everyone did what we asked tonight. The performance tonight was fantastic, our tactics worked. Chelsea are a good team, they have their way of playing but Juan Mata did a fantastic job on Jorginho and we were absolutely perfect defensively. We kept a clean sheet. It is a massive result."
