Macedónia do Norte defeated Letónia by 3x1

Macedónia do Norte edged out Letónia, 3x1, on Thursday, in a match relating to the Grp.G of Euro (Q). Both Igor Angelovski's team and Slavisa Stojanovic's team held their first game in the competition. Elif Elmas was the main player.

Ezgjan Alioski opened the score after 11 minutes, with a left-foot shot. In the 29th minute, Elif Elmas fired home Macedónia do Norte second goal, with a right-foot strike inside the box.

In an unlucky moment Darko Velkovski scored an own goal in the final minutes of the game. In stoppage time, Letónia saw Andrejs Ciganiks get sent off due to accumulation of yellows. Elif Elmas netted the last goal in the closing stages of the game with a right-foot shot.

With regard to the next fixture, Macedónia do Norte visit Eslovénia. Meanwhile, Letónia will play away against Polónia.
