Stoke City defeated Leeds United by 2x1

Stoke City beat Leeds United in a close win on Saturday, 2x1, on matchweek 28. In this competition, Stoke-on-Trent's team came from two defeats, and Leeds's team came from a win.

The first-half ended without any goals.

The opening goal was scored by Sam Clucas after the break, with a left-foot shot. After 77 minutes, Leeds United saw Pontus Jansson get a straight red card in the final minutes of the game, Joe Allen doubled the lead for Stoke City, with a right-foot strike inside the box.  Ezgjan Alioski netted the last goal with 90 minutes on the clock from a corner. With this goal, Ezgjan Alioski reached the landmark of five goals this season.

After the result Leeds United are 1st in the table, with 54 points, while Stoke City sit 15th place, with 38 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Nathan Jones's team will play at home against Preston North End, whilst Marcelo Bielsa's team will play away against Rotherham.
