Belenenses SAD defeated by Sporting

Sporting edged out Belenenses SAD, 2x1, on Thursday, in a game relating to mathweek 15. To this matchday, leões came from a defeat, and Jorge Silas's team came from a win.

The first-half ended without any goals.

With 57 minutes on the clock, Bruno Gaspar opened the score for Sporting, with a right-foot strike inside the penalty area, after a pass from Abdoulay Diaby. After 81 minutes, Marcel Keizer's team extended their lead with a goal from Miguel Luís with a right-foot shot inside the box.  Fredy netted the last goal in the final minutes of the game with a right-foot shot.

After the result Sporting are 2nd in the table, with 34 points, while Belenenses SAD sit 8th place, with 22 points. Next up, Marcel Keizer's team visit CD Tondela. Meanwhile, Jorge Silas's team will host Vitória SC.
