Benfica edged out FC Arouca in a close win on Thursday, 2x1, in a match relating of Taça de Portugal.
In the 19th minute, André Bukia opened the score for FC Arouca, with a left-foot strike inside the box, assisted by Didi. Shortly before the interval, Jonas struck for Benfica, with a right-foot strike inside the box, after a pass from Haris Seferovic.
Sub Rafa Silva, after the break, changed the course of the game. Forward scored the winning goal in the final minutes of the game with a right-foot shot inside the penalty area. In stoppage time, Quim Machado's team saw Soares get a straight red card
Thanks to this result, Benfica are through to the next round of the competition.
