Club Brugge overcame Eupen in a superb win on Sunday, 5x2, on matchday 1. Both Ivan Leko's team and Claude Makélélé's team held their first game in the competition. Jelle Vossen made a tremendous game.
The opening goal was scored by Wesley after 7 minutes. With 24 minutes on the clock, Jelle Vossen doubled the lead for Club Brugge, from the penalty spot. with 26 minutes on the clock, Ivan Leko's team extended their lead with a goal from Wesley.

In the 73rd minute, Luis García struck the second goal for Claude Makélélé's team, from the penalty spot. in the closing stages of the game, Eupen's team saw Rémi Mulumba get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.
