Bristol City overcame Manchester United in a close win on Wednesday, 2x1, in a match relating to the quarter-finals of League Cup. Both Bristol's team and Manchester's team held their first game in the competition.
The first-half ended with a goalless draw.
Joe Bryan opened the score in the 51st minute, with a left-foot strike inside the penalty area. After 58 minutes, Zlatan Ibrahimovic struck for Manchester United, from a direct free kick. Korey Smith netted the last goal deep into added time with a left-foot shot inside the box.
Thanks to this result, Bristol City are through to the next round of the competition. In the next fixture, Bristol's team visit Manchester City.
