FC Köln edged out Hertha BSC in a win on Wednesday, 1x3, in a match relating of DFB Pokal. Both Berlin's team and Köln's team held their first game in the competition.
The opening goal was scored by Simon Zoller in the 35th minute. Shortly before the interval, FC Köln extended their lead with a goal from Dominic Maroh.
In the 65th minute, Christian Clemens doubled the lead for Peter Stöger's team. Niklas Stark netted the last goal after 69 minutes.
With this result, FC Köln are into the next round of the competition.
