PSV defeat AZ Alkmaar

PSV triumphed over AZ Alkmaar in a close win on Saturday, 3x2, relating to matchday 1 of Eredivisie. Both Eindhoven's team and Alkmaar's team held their first game in the competition.

The first goal of the game was scored by Dabney dos Santos, with 18 minutes on the clock.  after 31 minutes, Hirving Lozano fired home for PSV, laid on by Jorrit Hendrix.

After the break, Gastón Pereiro fired home Phillip Cocu's team second goal, assisted by Daniel Schwaab. In the 76th minute, Eindhoven's team extended their lead with a goal from Marco van Ginkel.  after 81 minutes, Wout Weghorst wrapped things up, from the penalty spot.

After the result PSV are 5th in the table, with 3 points, while AZ Alkmaar sit 11th place, with 0 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Eindhoven's team visit NAC Breda. Meanwhile, Alkmaar's team will host ADO Den Haag.
