Scotland clinched qualification for Euro 2024 without having to kick a ball due to Norway's 1-0 home defeat to Spain.
The result assured Steve Clarke's side of a finish in the top two in Group A, and although the Scots are now below the Spaniards on goal difference, Norway are five points adrift of both nations with only one game to play.
The Tartan Army will now gear up for their second consecutive European Championships under Clarke having won through a a qualifying group to reach a major finals for the first time in over 25 years.
Barcelona midfielder Gavi netted the only goal of the game in the 49th minute in Oslo, the hosts unable to find a way back into the game despite the attacking prowess of Man City striker Erling Haaland.
Scotland's remaining two matches see them travel to Georgia before they host Norway next month, their objective now being to pip Spain to the post as group winners to increase their chances of being a top seed at Euro 2024.
Spain, meanwhile, bring the curtain down on their qualification campaign with games against the bottom two: Cyprus and Georgia.
With hosts Germany automatically assured of a place at next summer's tournament, Scotland and Spain join Portugal, France and Belgium on the list of teams to secure safe passage to the finals.
