Sam Johnstone is set to miss the rest of the Premier League season and the European Championships due to injury.
The Crystal Palace goalkeeper will require surgery on an elbow that is set to keep him out of action for 15 weeks according to Sami Mokbel of The Daily Mail.
Johnstone was likely to be Gareth Southgate's backup goalkeeper at Euro 2024 where he would have deputised for first choice Jordan Pickford.
Aaron Ramsdale will likely become the new number two while James Trafford was also called up to the England squad following Johnstone's departure.
At club level, Palace will have to rely on Dean Henderson for the remainder of the season with Remi Matthews the only other senior shot-stopper.
