Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta Partey has confirmed that midfielder Thomas Partey is set to return from injury for Arsenal's Premier League clash with Sheffield United on Monday.
The Ghana international has not featured for the London club since a substitute appearance against Man City at the start of October, due to a thigh injury. He is now expected to play some role against the Blades at Bramall Lane with Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus also in line to play.
Jesus has been sidelined with a knee injury for the Gunners' last four games and Arteta has spoken about the need to carefully manage his return to action.
“He’s fit enough. How long he will last, that’s something different. We didn’t want to take any risks after the result we had against Newcastle," said Arteta.
"We need him fit – he’s a massive player for us and now we want to make sure we load him in the right way.”
Arteta also confirmed that summer signing Jurriën Timber has resumed training as the defender steps up his recovery from the ACL injury he sustained against Nottingham Forest on his Premier League debut in August.
