Brighton's attempt to return to winning ways in the Premier League encountered another obstacle as they settled for a 1-1 draw against Fulham at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts dominated the first period, with Evan Ferguson finding the back of the net in the 26th minute, marking his fifth goal of the season and putting Brighton on course for victory.
The Seagulls created further chances after Ferguson's goal, but a combination of poor finishing and Bernd Leno's remarkable saves ensured that the Cottagers remained in contention.
After half-time, Roberto De Zerbi's men came close again to extend their lead, with Lewis Dunk's free-kick striking the top of the crossbar.
However, it was Fulham that managed to level the score in the 65th minute when Joao Palhinha unleashed a clinical strike from the edge of the penalty area.
As the match progressed, both teams had opportunities to seize the win, but the encounter ended in a well-fought draw.
With this result, Brighton maintain its seventh position in the Premier League, sharing 17 points with Newcastle United. Meanwhile, Marco Silva's side remains in 14th place, with 12 points.
