Emma Hayes insists her full focus on Chelsea ahead of her team’s game at home to Paris FC.
The soon-to-be USWNT manager was asked whether she would be working on her next job while still managing Chelsea: “No, there is no split. My time is here with Chelsea.
“Since I’ve been appointed as the [USWNT] coach I’ve had conversations with people to establish that there are full-time people in post in the U.S. and I will be there in May. When the opportunity arises, I will have conversations with Twila [Kilgore, interim US coach]. But my full focus is on Chelsea.”
Hayes also revealed that she wasn’t yet watching her soon-to-be new players.
“I'm not watching them [USA players], I'm watching my own team and I'm watching our competition. That is work for Twila and the other full-time staff there. I don't start working for US Soccer until May.”
The manager revealed that defender Millie Bright is a doubt for the game against Paris FC due to an ongoing knee issue sustained before the World Cup.
Paris FC’s Alsu Abdullina will be eligible to play against her parent club in Wednesday’s game.
