Chelsea have announced that striker Mia Fishel has suffered an ACL injury while on international duty.
The 22-year-old was part of the United States squad for the CONCACAF W Gold Cup with the USWNT set to begin the tournament against the Dominican Republic but picked up the injury during the nation's training camp.
In a statement, the London club said: "Mia will be assessed by a specialist in the coming days and will then begin her rehabilitation with the club’s medical team at Cobham.
"Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Mia the very best for her recovery."
This is another injury blow to Emma Hayes' side who are without star striker Sam Kerr also due to an ACL injury.
Chelsea beat the world record to sign Mayra Ramírez in January last month which will help ease the absence of both forwards. That transfer record has since been broken by Bay FC when they signed Racheal Kundananji from Madrid CFF.
Chelsea Football Club can confirm Mia Fishel has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while on duty with the US Women's National Team.
