Former Burnley and Spurs player Aaron Lennon has announced his retirement from football at the age of 35.
The Leeds-born winger made his debut for his hometown club at the age of just 16 years and 129 days in August 2003 – a Premier League record at the time.
During his Spell at White Heart Lane, Lennon was part of the team that lifted the League Cup trophy against Chelsea in 2008. It was also where he made all of his 21 appearances for the England national team which saw him feature at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
A loan move to Everton turned into a permanent transfer in 2015 before Lennon moved to Burnley in 2018. The former England international had two spells at Turf Moor with a year in the Turkish league for Kayserispor in between.
In total, Lennon played over 600 career games at club level scoring 43 goals with his final game being a substitute appearance in Burnley's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on May 22nd – the final day of last season.
