Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise scored the matchwinner on his return from injury as the Eagles twice battled back from behind to secure a 3-2 win over Sheffield United at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night.
Roy Hodgson's men would have been hard pressed to have made a worse start, however, as they found themselves a goal down inside 30 seconds when Ben Brereton Diaz curled into the bottom corner.
The South London side levelled on 17 minutes when Eberechi Eze poked in Olise's cross, only for the Blades' James McAtee to restore the visitor's lead with a deflected shot in the 20th minute.
Palace midfielder Eze rose to the occasion again and he made it 2-2 with a rising drive into the top corner from the edge of the box prior to the break.
Olise then hit the decider for the hosts in the 67th minute when he curled home a lovely finish, which struck the far post on its way into the net.
The Blades almost levelled late on when Anel Ahmedhodzic's header hit the crossbar, but they left the capital empty-handed and remain bottom of the Premier League table.
