Newcastle United have secured qualification for the upcoming season's Champions League despite a goalless draw against relegation-threatened Leicester City at St James' Park.
Despite Newcastle's dominant performance throughout the match, they were unable to find the back of the net. However, the result didn't dampen their spirits, as the dream of Champions League football became a reality.
Newcastle made an impressive 23 goal attempts compared to Leicester's solitary effort. Unfortunate luck struck as they hit the woodwork three times, while the visitors fought hard to secure a point, keeping their survival hopes alive leading into the last round of games on Sunday.
With this result, Newcastle sit in third place with 70 points and one game remaining and maintained a four-point lead over fifth-placed Liverpool, who also have one match left. Meanwhile, fourth-placed Manchester United have 69 points and two games left to play.
On the other side, Leicester climbed above Leeds United on goal difference, claiming a higher position. However, they remain in 18th place and face a crucial must-win match against West Ham United on Sunday. Their survival hopes hinge on this result and the 17th-placed Everton's result against Bournemouth.
