Salah's drought is over

Mo Salah ended his goal drought as Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League with another late show in a 3-1 win at Southampton.

Shane Long put the Saints ahead on nine minutes, when he controlled a flick-on header by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to fire in his 50th Premier League goal.

On 36 minutes, Liverpool were level as Naby Keita rose highest to head in his first goal for the club from a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross.

Salah found the bottom right corner superbly on the break as Liverpool came from behind to lead 2-1 with 10 minutes remaining, before sub Jordan Henderson rounded off the win from close range six minutes later.

Ralph Hasenhuttl: "It hurts really that we gave the second goal away like we didn’t want to because over 80 minutes they had nearly no ball wins where they could go in a counter attack and the game plan was not to give them the chance to come in the pressing situation and then we make such a mistake in the last ten minutes. Against such a team it is not possible and then you get the second and then you go all-in and the third was not important."

Jurgen Klopp: "It was brilliant, I told the boys we have a good mentality among us. The goals we scored were simply world-class. Everyone will come here in the future and feel how difficult it is, so that makes it even more satisfying and brilliant that we could win. It was great for us."
