Padraig Amond was the hero for League Two Newport County on Sunday - as the Exiles exiled Premier League Leicester from the FA Cup.

Journeyman striker Amond struck from the spot with five minutes left on the clock to kick Claude Puel's Foxes out of the competition and record the biggest shock of the Third Round.

Earlier, Amond's strike partner Jamille Matt had put Michael Flynn's side on 10 minutes, only for Rachid Ghezzal to equalise on 82 minutes for Leicester.

Afterwards, Newport's ecstatic manager Flynn paid tribute to his giantkillers: “It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I feel extremely proud, it’s huge for me, the football club, the community, all the fans and the players.

We’ve beaten a very good Premier League team. We couldn’t beat Stevenage who had 10 men on New Year’s Day. It’s crazy how the players can raise their levels and keep concentrating for 95 minutes against a team that is seventh in the Premier League.”
