The draw for the first knockout stage of Europe’s biggest club competition has thrown up some intriguing ties between the continent’s heavyweights.
Liverpool will take on German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16, while Manchester United have been drawn against Paris St-Germain.
Premier League champions Manchester City and Tottenham also face Bundesliga sides, with City meeting Schalke and Spurs playing Borussia Dortmund. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus meet Atletico Madrid.
Elsewhere, Lyon have been handed the task of trying to shackle Lionel Messi and Barcelona, Roma have been paired with Porto and Ajax with reigning champions Real Madrid.
The first-legs of the matches will take place the weeks of February 13/14 and 19/20, with the second-legs on March 5/6 and 12/13.
