Championship stat update

A dozen games in and the Championship is starting to take shape - and a number of players have certainly set themselves high standards to maintain. 

Here's a quick round-up of the main players to grace the English second tier so far this season.

First up, let's shine the spotlight on a player from the current leaders, Sheffield United: David McGoldrick. 'Didz' has been decisive in 2018/19 scoring matchwinning goals in four of the Blades' eight wins: against Hull City, Milwall, Preston North End and Queens Park Rangers.

Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have benefitted from the safe hands of Darren Randolph this season. The Reds' keeper has the most clean sheets in the Championship (6).

Currently, the Championship top scorer is Brentford's Neal Maupay. The French forward has netted a total of 10 goals in the competition. Between August and September, he scored in four consecutive matches - scoring a total of 6 goals.
