The Croatian captain is at least in celebrated company, with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo also failing from the spot this summer. Further, Real Madrid midfielder Modric had the last laugh: seizing a second chance to net a penalty in his homeland's dramatic shootout win.
