Chelsea are the only team currently looking certain for a Champions League semi-final spot after the first leg of the quarter-finals.
The Blues travelled to Amsterdam on Tuesday and were able to earn a three-goal lead against a spirited Ajax side.
Lauren James gave the visitors the lead after VAR intervened to show that the England forward was onside.
Sjoeke Nüsken then added two more (just days after scoring two against Arsenal) to put the Blues in charge ahead of the second leg. Emma Hayes may be tempted to rest some players but she will also be wary of the threat the Dutch side demonstrated at times.
The French serial winners eventually got themselves back into the game and earned a 2-1 win in the end thanks to goals from Delphine Cascarino, who finished from close range, and Sara Däbritz, who finished off Lindsey Horan's cross.
Wednesday's action began in Sweden with BK Häcken hosting Paris Saint-Germain. Eva Gaetino opened the scoring for the visitors after getting the final touch from a set-piece.
Häcken fought back though and equalised from the penalty spot when Thiniba Samoura was judged to have brought down former Everton player Anna Anvegård.
Rusul Rosa Kafaji's penalty was saved by Katarzyna Kiedrzynek but the Häcken player did well to head in the rebound.
PSG went ahead again in the game midway through the second half when Tabitha Chawinga had space to finish after Amalie Vangsgaard's cross. Häcken will have it all to do to turn things around in Paris next week.
Finally, we head to Norway where Barcelona won as expected against Brann, although still with much to do in the second leg.
Barça took the lead after a cleverly-worked corner routine that Caroline Graham Hansen – back in her native country for this one – eventually profited from.
Brann fought back though and levelled things before the break when Cecilie Redisch Kvamme went forward from defence and found herself in space to find the net from close range.
The reigning champions eventually earned a 2-1 victory after an incisive mode that resulted in Salma Paralluelo having space to turn and shoot in the box.
