Leicester City have sacked women's first team manager Willie Kirk following an internal investigation according to reports.

The Scottish manager was under investigation due to an alleged relationship with one of the team's players with leading figures of the women's game speaking out at the unprofessional nature of player-manager relationships in recent weeks.

Now according to Suzanne Wrack of The Guardian, the club has sacked Kirk who has not been in the dugout since Leicester City's 4-0 defeat at home to Chelsea although there has yet to be an official announcement.

Since then assistant manager Jennifer Foster and first team coach Stephen Kirby have taken charge in which the Foxes defeated Liverpool to reach the FA Cup semi-final but then lost the following two league games to Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wow, this is really disappointing news. It's a shame that the alleged relationship between Kirk and a player has led to his sacking. It's important for there to be clear boundaries between managers and players in professional sports. Let's hope Leicester City can bounce back from this and continue their success on the pitch.

As a football fan, it's disappointing to hear about the alleged relationship between the manager and one of the players. It's important for professionalism and respect to be maintained in player-manager relationships, and it seems Leicester City have taken swift and necessary action in sacking Kirk. The team's recent results have been up and down, but I hope they can bounce back and continue their progress in the FA Cup.
