West Bromwich Albion are still within a chance of the play-offs after a 2-1 win at home to Norwich City.
It was the visitors who took the lead with a well-worked goal that found the feet of Josh Sargent. The American, who has already missed a good chance in the game, made no mistake with a low finish past Alex Palmer.
But Baggies pulled one back just in first-half stoppage time. A controversial free-kick that the visitors were not happy to have conceded resulted in a fine, curling strike from Conor Townsend.
After what had been a fairly even first half, the home side was much the better team in the second period.
It was Townsend who provided the assist for the winner in a fast Albion break. It was Brandon Thomas-Asante who played Townsend in down the left flank with the defender putting in a low ball that Jed Wallace was able to convert.
In stoppage time fans were able to bid farewell to captain Jake Livermore who made an cameo as a late substitute with the midfielder set to leave the club this summer after six-and-half-years. This was Livermore's final home game for West Brom after over 200 appearances.
Norwich never really looked like getting back into it and this result confirmed that they wouldn’t feature in the play-off places. Meanwhile, West Brom still have a chance but they need to defeat Swansea City on the final day of the season and hope that other results go their way.
