Rotherham's relegation confirmed after Plymouth defeat

Rotherham United have been relegated from the Championship with five games left to play following a 1-0 loss at home to Plymouth Argyle.

Bali Mumba's goal just after the half-hour mark sealed Rotherham's fate, condemning them to relegation while also providing Plymouth with a crucial victory in their own battle to avoid the drop.

Despite some solid saves from Rotherham keeper Viktor Johansson, to keep the hosts in the game, they never had the energy to fight back for another result.

The win marked the end of Plymouth's six-game winless streak as they climbed to 19th place in the Championship, four points clear of the relegation zone, while Rotherham's defeat sees them returning to League One.
