Real Madrid want to make Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan move from Chelsea permanent.
The need for a replacement arose in August when Thibaut Courtois suffered a significant knee injury, prompting Real Madrid to swiftly seek a solution for the 2023-24 season.
Los Blancos quickly arranged a loan deal with Chelsea, and Kepa eagerly embraced the chance to become the primary goalkeeper at the Bernabeu.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper has left a positive impression during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, featuring in 12 matches and contributing to Real Madrid's leading position in La Liga, along with three consecutive Champions League victories.
According to The Sun, Real Madrid intends to make this loan move permanent, but their proposed offer for the Spanish international stands at approximately £17.5 million.
According to the same report, if the Blues find this offer not satisfying, Real Madrid is open to including goalkeeper Andriy Lunin as part of the deal.
Kepa's departure from Chelsea seems likely for the upcoming summer, given that his contract with the club extends until 2025, and he has expressed a desire to seek opportunities elsewhere.
