Mexico win Gold Cup

Jonathan dos Santos' strike earned Mexico victory over the United States in the final of the Concacaf Gold Cup in Chicago. 

The LA Galaxy midfielder linked up with Wolves' Raul Jimenez to fire home the matchwinner in front of 62,493 fans.

Referred to as the Concacaf Championship before 1991, the Gold Cup crowns the continental champions of North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Mexico extended their dominance in the competition: and have now won the tournament 11 times - five more than the US, who won the biennial tournament in 2017.

After a fine first season in the Premier League, Jimenez finished as the tournament's joint-second top scorer on five goals alongside Lucas Cavallini - with Cavallini's Canadian team-mate Jonathan David topping the charts with six.
