Hammers to play for England

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen is definitely chuffed to have finally received an England call-up after a sensational footballing journey that has seen him rise from the Football Conference to the Premier League. 

The 25-year-old has been in electrifying form for the Hammers this season, earning himself a Premier League Player of the Season nomination in the process. 

Man City's Kevin De Bruyne may have scooped that individual award, but Bowen won't care a jot given that Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate shortly afterwards named the talented left-footer in his squad for the forthcoming Nations League clashes with Hungary, Germany and Italy. 

On the eve of England's clash with Hungary at the Puskas Arena, the former Hereford and Hull City winger has come a long way, as he himself recognises. 

“Obviously you have dreams but you don’t expect a kid from Hereford to get a move to Hull City [in the Premier League] in the first place, it was just me playing for my local team week-in, week-out in the Conference.

“It is everything you dream of when you’re growing up and to get the call-up, obviously it is an honour and a privilege,” he told the England Football website. 

Along with Leicester City defender James Justin, another player involved in the England senior set-up for the first time, Bowen is reportedly in with a shout of playing some part in tonight's clash in Hungary, which brings us nicely around to this week's quiz!
