Burnley's immediate return to the Championship was confirmed on Saturday, as Vincent Kompany's side were unable to secure the win they needed at Tottenham to keep their survival hopes alive.
The Clarets took the lead in the 25th minute when Jacob Bruun Larsen slid in the opening goal of the contest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the visitors' joy was short-lived as Pedro Porro hammered home an equaliser for Spurs just seven minutes later.
The hosts largely dominated proceedings after the interval and they were eventually rewarded for their attacking intent when centre-back Micky van de Ven drove forward before finishing clinically with a low strike.
Tottenham's victory kept the pressure on Aston Villa in the race for Champions League football, but Burnley will line up in the second tier next season after a tough campaign in the top flight.
