According to several reports across Europe on Wednesday, Bayern Munich have approached Ralf Rangnick over the managerial role in Bavaria for next season.

The former Manchester United interim head coach has confirmed that he has received a proposal from Bayern but he has not yet decided on whether to take the job:

“Bayern have made contact with me and I informed the Austrian Federation about it. My focus is now on Austria and the EUROs. If Bayern will tell me ‘we want you’ then I have to ask myself: do I want this at all?”

The 65-year-old has been in charge of the Austrian national side since April 2022 and he has led them to UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany this summer, cultivating a squad that will head into the tournament as potential ‘dark horses’ in a group alongside France, the Netherlands and Poland.

In his 21 matches in charge of what was a failing Austria side, they have managed 13 victories with three draws and five losses. In his reign, they have thrashed Turkey by six goals to one as well as enjoyed victories over Germany and Italy with draws against France and Belgium.

Bayern have already confirmed that Thomas Tuchel will leave the club at the end of this season after a disappointing campaign but they do face Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the next couple of weeks.

As a football fan, I'm excited about the possibility of Ralf Rangnick becoming Bayern Munich's new manager. He's done a great job with the Austrian national team and could bring some much-needed fresh ideas to the team. I hope he decides to take the job and lead Bayern to success next season.

Wow, this is a huge decision for Ralf! It's always an honor to be approached by a big club like Bayern Munich, but he also has to consider his current commitments with Austria. Looks like he's really torn.
