Man City fight back to beat resilient Luton

Manchester City narrowed the distance to the top teams in the Premier League as they fought back to beat Luton Town 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.

Despite missing the injured Erling Haaland, Man City had a strong start, creating opportunities early on. 

In the second minute, Phil Foden tested Thomas Kaminski from a tight angle, with Bernardo Silva firing the rebound wide.

Kaminski was again called into action in the 19th minute, parrying a powerful Rodri drive and thwarting Phil Foden's long-range effort eight minutes later.

Despite City's pressure, Luton stunned everyone by taking the lead in the second minute of stoppage time in the first half. 

Andros Townsend delivered a perfect cross to Elijah Adebayo, who out-jumped Ruben Dias to head home from close range.

In the second half, Manchester City intensified their attack and around the hour mark, Kaminski made a spectacular fingertip save to deflect Ruben Dias's first-time effort onto the crossbar. 

However, three minutes later, Silva capitalised on a loose ball on the edge of the box and curled a beautiful strike into the bottom corner to equalise.

Just three minutes after that, Pep Guardiola's men completed their comeback when Julian Alvarez found Jack Grealish at the back post, and the Englishman powered the visitors' second goal through the legs of Kaminski.

Despite Luton's attempts to level, the treble winners controlled the remainder of the match, securing the win and reducing the gap to the summit of the Premier League.

With this result, City are now just four points behind the summit of the Premier League table, whereas Luton remain in the relegation zone, four points from safety.
