Luc Castaignos has revealed that he left Inter Milan and signed a four-year contract with Eredivisie side, Twente.
The former Fyenoord player struggled to secure a regular place at the nerazzurri’s first-team, last season, scoring just one goal in six Serie A appearances, has now decided to return to the Netherlands.
“I am going from Inter to Twente for €6 million (£4.7m),” the 19-year-old told FCInterNews.
“I have signed a four-year contract, but I would prefer for the financial details to remain private.”
“I came to Inter in order to show who Luc Castaignos really was and what I am capable of on the football field, but had very few opportunities to do that.”
“I chose Twente because I wanted to join a team where I knew I’d have a better chance of playing and improving.”
Castaignos is expected to replace the gap left by Luuk de Jong, who left Steve McClaren’s side to join Borussia Monchengladbach, also this summer.
