Preston North End have signed defender Patrick Bauer following his decision to leave Charlton Athletic.
Bauer, who scored the goal that clinched the Addicks' promotion to the Championship in the League One play-off final last season, has signed a three-year deal at North End after turning down a new deal at The Valley.
The former German youth international, who played for Maritimo in Portugal's Primeira Liga before his four-season stint at Charlton, is Preston's first summer signing.
"I was four years at Charlton. We had some disappointing moments, but also highs, like the promotion this season," said Bauer.
"I spent a good time there, but it was time for me to start a new chapter in my career."
