Premier League champions Manchester City will start the defence of their title with a trip to West Ham.
Pep Guardiola's side have lifted the Premier League trophy in back-to-back seasons and will be looking to extend their domestic success next term. City will fancy their chances of kicking off with a win, as they have won in east London for the last three seasons, and scored four goals on each occasion.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool were pipped by a point by Pep last season and, buoyed by their Champions League success, the Reds will be gunning for top spot in the coming campaign. The Merseysiders host newly-promoted Norwich City in the first Premier League game of next season (Friday 9 August) and clashes against Southampton, Arsenal, Burnley, Newcastle and Chelsea round out Liverpool's first half dozen top flight fixtures.
Manchester United, sixth last term, have an eye-catching opener against Chelsea to get them up and running. New United winger Daniel James, signed from Swansea City yesterday, will hope to force himself into the reckoning for the encounter, while doubts persist that Maurizio Sarri will be in the Blues' dugout, linked as he is to the vacant managerial role at Juventus.
The first full midweek schedule takes place on 3 and 4 December, and sees two mouthwatering fixtures: Manchester United entertaining Spurs, while Liverpool host rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby.
Details have also been revealed regarding the Premier League's inaugural pre-season break, when one matchday in February will be split over two weekends. Five games, yet to be confirmed, will take place on the weekend of 8 February, with the remainder taking place the following weekend.
