Welsh wing wizard Daniel James today signed for Manchester United for an inital fee of about £15 million.

Jame's fantastic form at Swansea City last season caught the eye of a host of Premier League clubs and he has opted to follow in the footsteps of his national team manager Ryan Giggs by joining the Red Devils on a 5 year deal.

The 21-year-old's lightning raids down the wing were a feature of Swansea's play last season in the Championship and 4 goals and 7 assists underlined his ability to provide an end product.

The Welshman is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing since he succeeded José Mourinho as manager - United finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, five points off a top four spot.

"Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic," said Solskjaer.

"This is the perfect environment for Daniel to continue his development."
