Eden Hazard hit a double as Chelsea thumped Arsenal 4-1 in Baku to win the Europa League last night.

Chelsea's star performer all season, Hazard topped off a fine campaign in style, as an inspired second half from Maurizio Sarri's side saw them blow away Unai Emery's Gunners. The Europa League's top scorer Olivier Giroud got the ball rolling - and his 11th goal in this edition of the competition - with a fantastic header on 49 minutes, before Pedro doubled Chelsea's tally.

Hazard converted from the spot to make the score 3-0 and, despite Alex Iwobi grabbing one back for Arsenal after 69 minutes, Hazard set the seal on a romping win with a fourth goal after great link up play with Giroud.

It's all a far cry from February when the knives were out for Sarri after a 6-0 humbling by eventual Premier League champions Man City. Further controversy dogged Sarri after goalkeeper Kepa's insubordination during the penalty shoot-out defeat, again to City, in the Carabao Cup final, and his days at the London club looked numbered.

However, Sarri and his troops have hung in, and a third placed finish in the top flight and, now, a dose of European glory are a refreshing tonic to the doom-mongering earlier this year.

In fact, such has Sarri's stock risen over recent months, Juventus are reportedly set to appoint the former Napoli manager after dispensing with Massimiliano Allegri

Which brings us back to Chelsea's talisman: Hazard, who indicated after the game that his much-vaunted move to Real Madrid is imminent.

“We will decide in a few days and the only target in my mind tonight was to win this final,” said Hazard, "but I have made my decision already and now I’m waiting on both clubs.

"I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know. My dream was to play in the Premier League and I have done that for one of the biggest clubs, so maybe now it is the time for a new challenge."
