Chelsea moved above Arsenal into fourth position in the Premier League as they were held by Burnley (2-2) in a thrilling game at Stamford Bridge.

It was a pulsating start at Stamford Bridge as all four goals came in the opening 24 minutes. Jeff Hendrick's spectacular volley put Burnley ahead  before N'Golo Kante and Gonzalo Higuain put Chelsea in front with a quickfire double.

But a Burnley side high on confidence after three straight wins levelled through Ashley Barnes.

Chelsea, who lost Callum Hudson-Odoi to an Achilles injury, put Burnley under late pressure but could not fashion a clear-cut chance and so only rise to fourth in the league table.

They are on 67 points, behind Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference and one clear of Arsenal.

Burnley are 15th on 40 points, nine off the relegation zone.

Gianfranco Zola (Chelsea Assistant): "I think in the second half we didn't play much football. There was a lot of time-wasting and we felt five minutes wasn't enough to compensate for all the lost time and lost rhythm. We are not very happy. I understand Burnley's approach, but we're very unhappy. Five minutes wasn't enough."

Sean Dyche: "We knew we would need to be resilient. We've got no choice, there's teams with more technical prowess than us in the division. We know we have to be resilient mentally, we're doing all the basics, there must be an honesty as a team; but that's also a record number of goals that we've scored now."
