Luton Town are leading the pack in League One at the moment - on the back of the longest unbeaten league run in English football this season.

Currently on a remarkable 21-game unbeaten streak, the Hatters have been invincible since a 3-2 defeat to Barnsley back on 13 October last year. They may have lost previous boss Nathan Jones to Stoke City in January, but the Bedfordshire boys have rolled with the punch and kicked on under current caretaker manager Mick Harford

A 1-1 draw with Coventry last Sunday saw the club break their long-standing record, set in the 1960s, of 20 league games unbeaten: Matty Pearson scoring a thumping header to put the Hatters ahead, although the Sky Blues equalised later through Jordan Shipley.

A quick look back over the past five seasons shows that only five teams in the top 4 tiers have put together longer unbeaten league runs: Manchester United stringing together the longest, of 25 games, in 2016/17 under José Mourinho

Luton will be looking to extend their own invincible streak this Saturday when they visit Rochdale, in a contest that looks a mismatch on paper. Unbeaten at home all season, the Hatters - League One's top scorers with 67 goals - host Rochdale, who currently sit 22nd in the table and have the division's leakiest defence.
