Arsenal breathed new life into the race for the Premier League's top four with a 2-0 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
Alexandre Lacazette put Arsenal ahead in the 14th minute when he made the most of a poor Hector Bellerin cross with a fine first touch before turning and beating Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga at his near post with a fierce strike.
Arsenal's intense pressing hampered Chelsea's ability to play the ball from the back, particularly in the first half, and the Gunners deservedly added a second through captain Laurent Koscielny in the 39th minute.
Chelsea was a bit of a mess, but Marcos Alonso nearly pulled the deficit back to one when he headed off the post in the 45th minute. Arsenal suffered a significant setback in the second half, as Hector Bellerin knee appeared to buckle on a non-contact injury. His leg was strapped down and the Spaniard was stretchered off the pitch.
Unai Emery: "Today, every circumstance came with us. The mentality was good. And we want to have the same mentality today at home and away - which we haven't yet."
Maurizio Sarri: "I have to say that I'm extremely angry, very angry indeed, because this defeat was due to our mentality more than anything else. We played against a team that was mentally far more determined that we were, and this is something I can't accept."
