AC Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini has been ruled out of action for an estimated four to six months, due to a knee injury.
The 28-year-old, who played 45 minutes in Milan's 2-1 win over Siena that sealed third spot in the Serie A table last weekend, underwent a knee surgery in Belgium, this week, to solve the injury.
"AC Milan wishes to communicate that Giampaolo Pazzini has undergone surgery on his right knee," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The operation took place in Namur, Belgium and was successfully completed by Prof. Martens. The player is expected to return to action within four to six months."Pazzini scored a total of 15 goals in 30 league appearances for the Rossoneri, after arriving at the club from Inter Milan at the start of the 2012-13 campaign.
